The team that founded signedOn was motivated to develop our platform by the difficulties inherent in implementing social networking applications on client web and mobile platforms. Our rationale is that the root of the problem lies in traditional web architecture, and the solution lies in addressing the root, not the top level of the problem.
The purpose of the original web architecture was to display simple, static web pages. Each incremental improvement in website functionality and interactivity required more creative and complex coding to overcome the basic issue, which is that we are asking a structure designed to do a few simple things well to do increasingly complex and sophisticated operations. We chose to implement a more sophisticated structure that supports complete flexibility in function, interactivity and design with a simple interface. signedOn technology enables users to express themselves without having to continually learn new languages and hacks to achieve an appropriate platform.
Of course, as developers ourselves, we appreciate the need for constant innovation and development in web applications to achieve new capabilities. But we promise that you will find the interface to be much less intrusive in the process of development than you find in many existing platforms. Our goal is to free you to do the development, not the interface. Blah, blah, blah.
